Victory in Defeat – Dyana Sofya

June 1, 2014

let me remind you Dyana with an inspiring quote from the legendary Nelson Mandela…

“The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.”

Never allow this defeat to rattle you to walk in the path of the mighty mortals that have trodden this journey….and by the way,  you have indeed fought gallantly..remain steadfast (istiqomah) and unyielding in the face of critique..humble and composed when people sing you praises……AlLahu Musta’an…AlLah is the One we finally seek help from.

Victory in defeat – Dyana Sofya (Malaysiakini).

So near, yet so far. It has been a whirlwind campaign over the last two weeks, and although we may not have achieved our ultimate goal of winning this by-election, I don’t think anyone can deny that we have given our all against the might of the entire federal government machinery.

Despite the negative and malicious campaigning, the people of Teluk Intan have shown their strong support for the ideas, struggles and principles that my party and I stand for. Nonetheless, I congratulate Mah Siew Keong on his victory.

I believe that this result is a great achievement for me personally, as well as a progressive step forward for the party. In spite of the tremendous odds stacked against us, we managed to knock down barriers previously thought impossible, and that is the real victory.

I accept the outcome positively, and vow to strengthen my resolve and continue fighting for the hopes and dreams of all Malaysians. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the party leadership for their unflinching support, the campaign team for their tireless commitment, and our volunteers who sacrificed so much time and energy.

I would also like to thank our coalition partners, including leaders from PAS and PKR who gave us their strongest support. In particular, I would also like to thank the local Teluk Intan PAS machinery, as well as the PAS Muslimat, for all their efforts and solidarity.

Finally, I would like to extend my deepest and most sincere appreciations to each and every voter of Teluk Intan. You have let me into your lives and I hereby tell you that I will continue what I have started.

This is not the end but merely the beginning. If there is one thing I have learned from the last two weeks, it is that there are thousands if not millions of Malaysians who also believe in the goal of “Malaysianising” Malaysia. And so, to each and every one of you out there, I promise that the day will come when we will all roar together for a new Malaysia.

Let this just be a learning lesson and you should be very very proud that it took the entire BN force just to beat you by over over 200 votes.
For the Chinese who voted this Umno lackey you deserve to stay as running dogs of the Umno schmucks. What can this Mah from Gerakan do in the next few years for the Chinese except to keep selling out the interest of the Chinese and endorsing whatever policies the Umno schmucks are coming up with. Above all to go on kissing the asses of Umno schmucks. When will you wake up, aren’t all the atrocities the Umno schmucks have done to the Chinese in particular enough proof to kick this lackey from Gerakan out of parliament ?

Winning with the help of samsengs is not winning at all.Better to lose with pride and dignity.

Doc ZUL, although victory will have been sweeter ,nonetheless ,win or lose seems moot in comparison to the awakened consciousness and realisations of thousands of Gen-Y,that the establishment can be challenged if they are deemed to have abused the authority entrusted to them to serve the best interest of the people..
Perhaps inspired by Diyana, who from a virtual unknown can in an instant ,with the vigour and exuberance of her age group,, just appears and instantly challenges and defies the institutional kleptocrats, shaking them out of their complacent arrogance into vicious attack dog mode., becoming an iconic representation of the thousands of dissenting youthful voices, against perceived tyrannical arrogance of UMNO/BN ,

Sentiments that transcends ethnicity, not loud enough at moment yet stirring tumultously, eventually this youthful energy will be harnessed and collectively unleashed, and ,It will be an explosive force , that may be hard to resist but to yield to it or be flattened..

Spearheading the “winds of change,”as it were, and Malaysia will be fertile again when the useless dried up “lalangs” are weeded out of the field..,
Diyana has taken the first step on the thousand mile journey, although there is still 999 plus miles to go, keep on walking and we ll still eventually arrive.
