The Pakatan Rakyat wants the Registrar of Societies (RoS) to stop dragging its feet and approve its application to register it as a coalition made three years ago before it convention on March 8.
PAS secretary-general Datuk Mustafa Ali (pic) said the coaltion was baffled over the way the RoS was stalling its registration.
“The RoS had registered new political parties during this time but seems to have difficulty with our application,” he said today, during a press conference attended by PKR secretary-general Datuk Saifuddin Nasution Ismail and DAP national organising secretary Anthony Loke.
The Pakatan Rakyat will be holding its fifth convention in Shah Alam on March 8, from 8am to 4pm.
Loke said the RoS failure to register the coalition will create technical problems in the upcoming Kajang state by-election on March 23.
“The technical problem will be in relation to our machinery in Kajang. We don’t want our posters and banners to be brought down or our ceramahs stopped because of technicalities,” he said.
Mustafa said the Pakatan Rakyat convention this time will focus on the rising cost of living. – February 18, 2014.
