PAS Research head Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, who sits on PR’s Manifesto Committee, said such a debate was more constructive instead of condemning each other’s plans for the country if voted in.
Dzulkefly said once BN unveils its manifesto, members of the committee are also prepared to debate with other BN leaders.
On Monday, PR unveiled its manifesto themed “People’s Pact, People’s Hope”, outlining its major policies which are based on four pillars, namely fraternity of the people, people’s economy, people’s well-being and people’s government.
Among others, the coalition says it hopes to achieve a minimum monthly household income of RM4000 per family, cheaper car prices, redistribution of oil royalties to benefit oil producing states and free education.
The manifesto has been dismissed by BN leaders as unrealistic and a recipe for national bankruptcy. However, PR defended the policies, saying much of the money could be saved by arresting leakages and corruption..
