The Sun, 30 Jun 2009: PM Frees Up Economy).

  2. Its the umNOputras/puteris who enriched themselves of RM Millions if not RM Billions who are the real traitors to the millions of poor Malays themselves and by extension a traitors to ALL Malaysians.
Also those PUTRAS/Puteris of MCA,MIC,Gerakan,SUPP etc etc who enriched them were and also traitors to ALL Malaysians stealing Billions RM and gross mismanagement, leakages, croynism,Nepotism…
Lets rebuild a BETTER Malaysia for ALL Malaysians irrespective of races, religions n creed.
    Every Vote Counts.
    Its NOW or NEVER.
    CHANGE NOW.
Raise the Anti Barang Naik banners & posters…display them PROMINENTLY in all kampungs and rural areas just when Parliment is dissolve or even before. We can collect donation on behalf of PAS

  3. Thanks for coming……people up north loved your speech…there is no hatred nor fear for what they preach….time is nigh…make it count!!!May St Anne bless you…

  4. Yes. Focus on economic issues that ordinary folks can understand. Stress on ‘harga barang naik. ‘ Food and commodities are way up.

  5. Foreign investors are reluctant to invest in Malaysia due to bumi policies.
recently carrefour got entangled with a bumi investor, who has not paid his 30% share. The case will be heard in court, but the news of this incident will spread.
The govenrment should put as little hindrance as possible for businesses to flourish. The bumis can learn by working in these businesses, and in time, can be masters in their trade. the 30% quota rule will cause many more investors to shun the country, more local non-bumi to invest abroad, and cause unemployment to rise.

  6. There are many aspects of the economic management of BN that cannot be denied detrimental to the interests of building a truly resilient bumiputera society. I cannot deny the isssues raised as a reflection of the shortcomings.
Despite all that what happen post 1969 to today for the Bumi economy is much better than what happen post 1957 to 1969 notwithstanding the wastages, abuses and leakages. Therefore it is not something fundamentally wrong with policy prescriptions. The real issue is the implementation.
Rather than UMNO/PAS or for that matter PKR fight for Malay votes it is much better that the three parties sit down and address the implementation and execution program better.
The three parties must realize your options will be limited and curtail if you are trying to address the issues of Bumi economy on your own. You will be limited in your ability because you have to subscribe (even be subservient in the case of Perak pakatan state govt) to the demands of others in the coalition especially to parties like DAP who blatantly opposed to any form of affirmative program.
And most importantly we bumiputeras are not in control of economy. Any free capitalist system will always be advantageous to those in control and that control can be perputuated and consolidated further without some form of affirmative program. Don’t we ever think for the last 30
years the dominant economic power rendered their due cooperation to enable the Bumi to participate in the economic system in its true sense. And do we ever think who is really the ultimately beneficiary of the affirmative action program.
So it is time for PAS, and UMNO to set aside all these differences and be united first and come back with a new program. At least we are in a position of strength just like Tun Razak had when he introduced NEP.
But the lesson must be learnt. No more cronies, no more abuses and no more leakages. Get a system that will allow Bumi businessmen and aspiring ones to compete within a fair and equitable affirmative action program with due support from those holding economic power. That is the model that have to be refined rather than the never ending politicking by UMNO, PAS and PKR for the Malay votes.

  7. Dr., it can’t be that after so many years of affirmative action in favour of the Malays and so many years of gross discrimination against non Malays, the Malays are still left behind.

If the Malays had not benefited from the APARTHEID policy of UMNO, they had also not complained. I don’t hear a lot of complaints from the Malays anyway.

Besides, UMNO, the party deemed corrut and rotten to the core is still in government. If UMNO has been so bad, the Malays should be the first to throw out UMNO. It has not happened to date.

Will the Malays get rid of UMNO comes GE 13?

    I shall wait and see.

  8. I do not know where you come from but comments is the most naive I have ever read, mr Hardick.
Don’t ever over emphasize the so call affirmative action program as discriminating against non Malays ifmyou fail to acknowledge the greaterband subtle discrimination practice by non Malays against the Malays in Malaysia.
At least the affirmative program if you call it unwisely as discriminatory, it is transparent for all to see and understand. But the Malays have been discriminated in the past and currently and in the future. i can write a book about it.
It is simple to do if you have the economic power like they have. They control all the marketing ,distribution, production, retailing, private banking, etc etc never ending. That is where they exercise their economic power to discriminate. No economic activity ongoing in Malaysia is without their participation. And in that process there is a plenty of discrimination. So hardick don’t make sweeping statements and arouse emotions.
